Bedtime Bath Fizzers
There is nothing better after a hard day at work than a long, hot, scented bath. Sometimes there are no bath bombs in the house or the ones in the shops are too expensive. Luckily, making your own is quick, easy and fun!
Try my simple recipe for a bedtime bath fizzer.
Ingredients (makes one fizzer)
3 tablespoons bicarbonate of soda
1 tablespoon creme of tartar
1 teaspoon sweet almond or olive oil
4 drops lavender essential oil
A few drops of water
A few drops of food colouring
Method
- Combine together the bicarbonate of soda and creme of tartar until well mixed.
- Add both the oils together with the food colouring and continue to mix well.
- Add a few drops of water using a spray bottle until the mixture will hold its shape when squeezed. It’s important not to add too much water at this stage as it mightl start to fizz and expand!
- Compress the mixture into a mould and leave to dry. If you don’t have a mould, many household objects can be used instead. Silicon cupcake cases (see photo), broken tennis balls and shot glasses all work well.
Your bath fizzer should be ready within an hour – fill your bath and enjoy!
